Rooibos, also known as red tea, consists of leaves from the rooibos bush that grows in South Africa. Rooibos is brewed like tea but contains no stimulating caffeine and can therefore be enjoyed in the evening. The leaves contain minerals and antioxidants and are said, among other things, to stimulate blood circulation, boost the immune system and release the substance leptin, which is the body's hormone for signalling satiety.
